We buy Mineral, Gem, and Crystal collections!
Do you or someone you know have an old mineral collection?
Perhaps you are moving or simply do not have the space to keep the collection?
Maybe you inherited an old mineral collection but don’t know what to do with the numerous, potentially heavy materials?
Or if you simply have had your years of collecting and would now like to cash out.
You should consider selling Spectra Minerals your mineral/crystal collection.
We regularly purchase old collections. If the collection is located in the eastern U.S. and we are interested in acquiring it, we will travel to see the collection in person and assess it’s potential value. If a deal can be arranged, you will receive immediate payment and we will pack/remove the collection that day.
We also purchase collections without ever seeing the collection in person. You have the option to simply ship the collection incrementally through the mail, and as each portion arrives we will contact you to discuss the value and a purchase price for the material. If we agree on a price, a check will be mailed that day and you can prepare another portion of the collection for shipment. To start this process, sample images and information should be sent to Kevin@spectraminerals.com for review.
In the case of more collectible and significant specimens valued over $500, you should contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with photos, description, and asking price. If we are interested, we may accept your price or counter-offer, pending inspection of the specimen. You will be required to ship the specimen at your expense for our final review.
Remember to keep and include all original labels with minerals you send us, as these greatly add to the value and our ability to properly identify/sell. Any un-labeled specimens must be assessed and valued accordingly, as rare locality can account for a large portion of market value.
Please understand we are only interested in wholesale prices based on today’s market value. And remember, large size/quantity is not necessarily reflective of value. Some larger specimens are potentially worthless to us in a retail setting, and some small specimens could potentially be worth a substantial amount.
When selling your mineral collection, be prepared to answer these questions:
How many minerals?
What size specimens (in general)?
Are they all labeled?
If they are not labeled at this time, do you have a catalog or database identifying each mineral?
Are they on display, loose, boxed or mounted?
What dealers have you been buying from?
About what did you pay for each specimen?
Do you have a price in mind for the whole collection?
Are you ready to sell your collection now?
STEP 1. Email your info, sample images and collection info to email@example.com
STEP 2. We will respond asap with questions to determine our interest in your minerals.
STEP 3. If we agree to proceed, arrangements will be made to move forward. Be careful to protect the minerals against damage. Damaged crystals are the number one cause of reduced value in mineral specimens and will greatly effect the price we can pay for your collection.
